Illinois Governor Criticizes Casino Boat Plan

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois – As reported by the Southern Illinoisan: "Once again Gov. Rod Blagojevich is criticizing state Rep. John Bradley, this time denouncing the lawmaker's plan to eliminate the state's nine riverboat casinos.

"…The proposal comes as Senate Democrats are working on a strategy to create three new casino licenses. Blagojevich has also made increasing the size of Illinois' casinos an integral part of his plan to fund education.

"Bradley's House Bill 1920 passed out of committee and awaits debate on the House floor.

"Despite wide-ranging criticism of the initiative, the representative is optimistic of its chances…"
