Illinois Governor Considers State-Owned Casino Proposal

CHICAGO, Illinois – As reported by the Chicago Tribune: "Speaking at an education rally Monday on the West Side, Gov. Rod Blagojevich weighed in on the idea of a state-owned casino for the first time. He said it is something the state might consider with the proper provisions.

"…The decision will rest with the Illinois Gaming Board, he said.

"Last week Penn National Gaming entered a bid for the last casino, offering to let the state own it in exchange for a management contract…"
