Illinois: Gov. threatens veto if numbers aren't reduced17 October 2011ILLINOIS -- Gov. Pat Quinn wants a reduction in proposed gambling sites or he'll veto the current expanded gambling bill on the table, Bloomberg reported. The Governor is unhappy with the proliferation of gambling across Illinois and supports a more modest approach, the report said. He appeared to support two casinos in Chicago and two elsewhere in suburbs, but seemed strongly opposed to slot-machine expansion, Bloomberg reported. |
