Illinois gaming officials could choose gaming license today22 December 2008CHICAGO, Illinois -- As reported by the Des Plaines Times: "The Illinois Gaming Board could choose the recipient of the coveted 10th gambling license as early as Monday. "Its members, who had been expected to make the decision at their Tuesday meeting, now are planning to address the issue during a closed session at 9 a.m. Monday, followed by a public meeting at 11 a.m. in the Michael A. Bilandic Building, 160 N. LaSalle St., in downtown Chicago. "The board will discuss information its members requested from one of the three bidders for the state's final license, said Gene O'Shea, the board's spokesman. "O'Shea would not say which of the development companies of the three finalists -- Des Plaines, Rosemont and Waukegan -- was asked to supply more data. But he did say the board members' decision was not delayed because of alleged wrongdoing by Gov. Rod Blagojevich... " |
