Illinois City Backs Casino Proposal

CALUMET CITY, Illinois – As reported by the Northwest Indiana Times: "Calumet City is backing a Country Club Hills casino proposal.

"The decision came Wednesday night, less than a week after Calumet City Mayor Michelle Markiewicz Qualkinbush announced her city can no longer afford efforts to bring a casino here.

"Calumet City is now one of 18 communities in a revenue-sharing agreement with Country Club Hills and could stand to receive $650,000 annually if the proposal becomes a reality…"
