Illinois casinos report mixed results

ILLINOIS -- As reported by the Chicago Herald-News: "Both revenues and admissions for Harrah's Joliet Casino and Hotel rose in 2007, but Empress Casino showed losses in both categories.

"Figures from the Illinois Gaming Board showed December revenues of $29,694,000 boosted Harrah's 2007 revenues to $381,124,000, up from $347,537,343 in 2006. Admissions in 2007 totaled 2,992,104, up from 2,653,667 in 2006.

"Total revenue and admissions for all casinos in Illinois were up slightly from 2006. Totals in 2007 were $1,984,037,000, compared to $1,923,528,409 in 2006..."
