Illinois Casino Expansion Running Out of Time

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – As reported by the WQUAD: "Time is running out to get approval for the Jumer's Casino Rock Island's expansion plans.

"State Representative Pat Verschoore wrote the new legislation (House Bill 1919), which needs to be passed by the end of the month to keep the issue form going to court.

"This legislative session closes at the end of the month. The orginal bill was passed in 2003, but the new law specifically gives the Illinois State Gaming Board the authority to approve Jumer's expansion project.

"Jumer's wants to build a new multi-million dollar facility off of Interstate 280…"
