Illinois Board Considers Hiring Investigator

ILLINOIS – As reported by the Chicago Tribune: "The Illinois Gaming Board plans to hold a special meeting Tuesday to discuss whether to hire an investigator who would examine the suitability of Rosemont as a casino site, board Chairman Elzie Higginbottom said Monday.

"Gov. Rod Blagojevich appointed Eric Holder, a former top Justice Department official, as the special investigator and alleged late last week and on Monday that the board has been hampering his investigation.

"…Higginbottom has said the board has cooperated as much as it can with Holder and it hasn't turned over all the documents he has requested because some of them are 'privileged.'…"
