Illegal Bookies Indicted

NEW JERSEY – As reported by the KYW Newsradio: "A New Jersey grand jury has indicted five men from South Jersey and two others from South Philadelphia on charges of running an illegal sports betting ring.

"…John Hagerty of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice says the indictment identifies 35-year-old John Garbarino of Franklinville (Gloucester County), NJ as the man in charge of the operation:

"'It's alleged Garbarino, as the leader of the sports book operation, was taking in some $60,000 a day in illegal bets, and the operation was taking bets on any and all types of sporting activities.'
