Hurricane Forces Closure of Harrah's Casino14 September 2004LOUISIANA – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Harrah's New Orleans Casino will close at 6 p.m. Central Daylight Time this evening due to the approach of Hurricane Ivan, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET) announced. Conditions permitting, Harrah's New Orleans will re-open at 10 a.m. Friday morning. "As this dangerous storm approaches, our No. 1 priority is ensuring the safety of our employees and customers," said John Payne, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's New Orleans. "Our thoughts are with all of them at this time. Like all New Orleans residents, we're hopeful the worst will pass us by, and we look forward to re-opening as soon as it is safe and practicable to do so."
