House Doesn't Gamble On Casino Bill

ANCHORAGE – As reported by Anchorage 11: ``The State House isn't taking a gamble on opening a casino in Anchorage just yet.

``Legislators Saturday voted 19-to-19 on the casino bill ... just two votes short of the 21 needed for the bill to pass the House.

``…There is still a chance the bill could win enough support to pass a possible reconsideration vote Monday.

``Well-known Anchorage businessman and gambling supporter Perry Green is pushing the legislation.

``He wants to put a casino in the failed state-owned Alaska Seafood International plant…"
