Horseshoe Casino Cleveland customer arrested after making comment about Ebola16 October 2014CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that a disgruntled gambler is facing criminal charges after he reportedly made a comment about his wife being infected with Ebola while at Horseshoe Casino Cleveland on Wednesday. The Plain Dealer states that Cleveland police arrested the 60-year-old man at his home on the city's West Side. The man had been gambling and upon cashing out he made a comment indicating his wife was a nurse and had just returned from West Africa infected with Ebola. He then left the casino but a witness was able to get his license plate number. The gaming table the man was at was shut down as a precaution. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ohio Casino Control and Cleveland police were notified, according to a statement released by the casino. According to the Plain Dealer, police quickly determined that neither the man nor his wife was infected. The man's wife is not a nurse and did not travel to Africa. The suspect likely will face a felony charge of inducing panic, according to police. |
