Horse racing revenues dented by offshore gambling

12 June 2013

LONDON, England -- Horse racing revenues are suffering from the increase in use of offshore bookies, the BBC reported.

Revenues have fallen 1.4% compared to a study in 2008, the report said.

An ongoing issue for the British taxman is the matter that offshore bookies do not pay the 10.75% levy which British betting shops pay, the BBC report explained.
