Horn Recovering 'Nicely' After Tiger Attack8 October 2003LAS VEGAS – As reported by the LA Times: ``Illusionist Roy Horn is communicating with doctors and recovering 'nicely,' though he remains in critical condition after a tiger attack during a performance, his neurosurgeon said today. ``It was 'all but miraculous' that Horn survived the attack by the 600-pound Siberian tiger, which included a life-threatening bite to his neck, said Dr. Derek Duke, at a news conference at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. ``Duke said the 59-year-old entertainer's recovery was aided by his strength and his will to live. ``…Horn lost a large amount of blood in the attack, doctors said, and later had a stroke. ``A hospital spokesman declined to provide further details on Horn's injuries and prognosis but said that 'everyday that passes increase his chances for survival.'…" |
