Hong Kong Bookie Syndicate Busted

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – As reported by the Bernama: "Police believe they have busted a Hong Kong-based international football betting syndicate with the arrest of 17 men, including four Hong Kong nationals, here on Feb 19.

"City CID Chief SAC II Aziz Bulat said the syndicate was believed to be masterminded by a Hong Kong national and had collected more than RM20 million in bets, including from China and Hong Kong.

"Aziz said police from the City Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Unit raided a premises in Jalan Ampang and 'found the men, aged 20 to 45, operating computers which had international football league schedules on the screens.'…"
