Hong Kong: Banker charged in underground poker game

HONG KONG -- A Merrill Lynch banker was amongst other financial industry types charged with participating in a poker game, according to the Canadian Press.

A total of eight people face charges for "gambling in a gaming establishment" and were freed on bail, The Canadian Press said.

Casinos remain illegal in Hong Kong, with gambling only allowed on horse races, football betting, and a number lottery.

The Hong Kong police seized $20,000 cash in this raid, the report noted.
