Hollywood Poker congratulates WSOP 2011 November Nine

22 September 2011

GIBRALTAR -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The famed November Nine has been finally named on the 8th day of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2011. HollywoodPoker congratulates the November Nine for making it to one of the biggest poker championships in the world, the WSOP 2011 Main Event final table:

1. Martin Staszko (Czech Republic)
2. Eoghan O’ Dea (Dublin, Ireland)
3. Matt Giannetti (Las Vegas, NV)
4. Phil Collins (Las Vegas, NV)
5. Ben Lamb (Tulsa, OK)
6. Badih Bou-Nahra (Belize City, Belize)
7. Pius Heinz (Cologne, Germany)
8. Anton Makiievskyi (Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine)
9. Samuel Holden (Sussex, UK)

The hand that finally burst the November Bubble was dealt at 2:10 AM, bringing forth frustration from John Hewitt’s fans as the Costa Rican poker pro’s pocket 33 lost to Eoghan O’Dea’s KJ. With this, Hewitt was eliminated and the November Nine finally emerged.

Competition had definitely been fierce before the Main Event final table was finally furnished with a very international flavor, as can be seen from the November Nine’s represented countries above. A total of 6,858 poker players entered the WSOP 2011, accumulating a total prize pool of $64.5 million for this year’s tournament. This made the said poker event the third largest in history despite many negative predictions in line with the “Black Friday”.

The fame and fortune that comes with the World Series of Poker tournament attracted a diverse array of poker players, from live poker professionals, online poker players, and even celebrities like Nelly. Different online poker sites put up their own poker satellites to send players to the WSOP 2011.

HollywoodPoker had run quite a number of poker tournament qualifiers to give their players a chance to compete in the WSOP 2011. These World Series of Poker event qualifiers took different forms and buy-ins, like Daily Qualifiers for a buy-in as low as $2.20 and $35 Sit N Go Qualifiers. HollywoodPoker also held freeroll tournaments to the WSOP 2011 online poker satellite, making it possible for players to win WSOP Main Event packages without shelling out for a buy-in. All in all, HollywoodPoker offered 9 WSOP 2011 Main Event packages worth $14,000 each, and 36 Side Event packages worth $3,600 each.

“HollywoodPoker aimed to make the WSOP 2011 main events accessible to poker players, no matter the size of their bankroll,” said Ronald M., poker room manager at HollywoodPoker . “The same actually goes with other big live poker events such as the GSOP Live and World Poker Tour. We want online poker players to thrive in live poker tournaments as well.”

Now, the WSOP 2011 goes into a 3-month hiatus. Each of the November Nine is already guaranteed to win at least $782,115, but none of them will probably take the final table lightly, knowing that the other eight will be millionaires when this year’s World Series of Poker event reaches its conclusion.

The remaining WSOP 2011 poker tournaments will be played out starting on November 5th 2011 until a new World Series of Poker champion is declared on November 7th 2011.
