Hollywood Casino's steadfast leader share plans to retire30 May 2007BAY ST. LOUIS, Missouri -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis President and General Manager John Jagunich, announced his retirement effective July 31st in order to focus on a series of personal chronic health problems. "Although 'JJ' has been dealing with progressive and intensive back pain and Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome related problems on top of losing everything he owned including his Bay St. Louis home due to Hurricane Katrina, he unselfishly stayed to open Hollywood Casino," said John Chaszar Assistant General Manager. Jagunich is known for his personable and hands-on leadership style insisting to be called "JJ" by employees and guests. His impeccable attention to detail can be seen throughout the casino resort from the property master plan, to the footprints of the gaming floor, to every item of the menus in the restaurants, and more. Jagunich instills the importance of the fact that everything communicates. "Our organization has seen unimaginable changes over the past two years, but change is natural and if done correctly very empowering to the organization,' said Jagunich." Jagunich was the general manager for Casino Magic Bay St. Louis before the casino re-opened as Hollywood Casino last August after being closed due to Hurricane Katina. He also served on numerous boards and is an integral leader in the community. "We love JJ and we'll miss him deeply. We are sad to see him go, but realize he needs this time to fully recover," said his staff. |
