Hollywood Casino venue showcases local duo

BAY ST. LOUIS, Mississippi – (PRESS RELEASE) -– Shaker's Martini Bar in Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis is proud to present local favorite acoustic duo "Common Ground," every weekend in April. Performers Kevin Dunnaway skillfully plays guitar complemented with the strong vocalist and masterful keyboard by Christy Strong. Common Ground will perform every Friday and Saturday night from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.

"We've been showcasing a variety of accomplished artists in Shaker's on weekends and Common Ground brings a whole new level of professionalism to an acoustic performance," said Marty Moore, Hollywood Casino senior director of marketing. "The soul of their music is not cluttered by the sound of a big band, they get to the soul of the music when performing in Shaker's," said Moore. Their play list include songs from well known artists like the Black Crowes, John Cougar, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Train, Sheryl Crow, Bon Jovi, Evenescence, and many others; including their own compositions.

Kevin has been played guitar and performed professionally with numerous bands including Sling, 3 Weeks Notice, and 2nd Nature. He has performed with various artists such as Todd Harrell of 3 Doors Down and Kenny Queen of Beautiful Creatures.

Christy has performed with The Drive and Karma and is well known favorite for her performances at casinos throughout the Coast.

Shaker's will continue to bring in a variety of artists and singers for entertainment on weekends. Along with great live-music Shaker's serve famous selections of specially blended celebrity martinis like the Marilyn Monroe, Dirty Harry, Frank Sinatra and other fantastic drinks named after classic Hollywood figures. Shaker's, located in the Hollywood Hotel, is open 7-days-a-week. Monday – Thursday 4:00 p.m. 12:00 a.m., Friday – Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m., Sunday 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 A.M.

Shaker's is just one of Hollywood Casino venues that offer live entertainment. Club Royale features live entertainment every weekend with live music and a dance floor in front of the stage along with a private bar. April's entertainment line up includes a different band every weekend including Stormy, Platonic Playground, the Bo Roberts Band, No Left Turn and the Chris Gray Band.

Hollywood Casino and Hollywood Hotel offer 291 guest rooms, more than 900 new slot machines, 20 unique table games, and a 6-table poker room. Four restaurants are open including, Tuscany Steaks and Seafood, The Epic Buffet, Jackpot Java, and The Bridges Grill. The fully renovated land-based casino has 17,000 of function space and nine private meeting rooms.
