Hollywood Casino celebrates Carnival en Afrique

"We celebrated not only the best of the best, but also a very special group of individuals. Over sixty cast members celebrated their 15th anniversary with us this past year," said Chaszar. "These individuals represent the cornerstone of who we are at Hollywood Casino."

Casino executives surprised attending guests after disappearing from their dinner tables only to return as bongo drums roared with primitive percussions and the leading cast members donned primitive island dressings with soaring feathered costumes and head garments lead by a procession of island dancers.

The Carnival en Afrique theme was evident in every little detail ranging from the zesty seafood salads and steak dinner to the lush tropical center pieces complimenting the table with exotic feathered masks for guests at each place setting. African drummers and dancers darted throughout the mystical ballroom. After the awards ceremony, the cast member party continued with live music and dancing.

"This has been a fantastic evening. Hollywood is very special." said Administrative assistant Cassie Williams. Williams was one of fifty-five employees recognized for their fifteen years of service. Another twenty-one employees received recognition for their ten years of service and fifty-four for five years.

Hollywood Casino and Hotel features 291 guest rooms, 1,067 slot machines, 21 unique table games, 6-table poker room, and a video poker bar. Hollywood offers three entertainment venues including Shaker's martini bar featuring a live piano bar, the Club Royale night club open on weekends in the Oak Royale room, home stage to Pete Fountain, and great concerts in the Cypress Ball room.

Hollywood Casino is home to the Bridges Golf Course, the state's only Arnold Palmer Championship Course. Hollywood has four restaurants including, Tuscany Steaks and Seafood, Jackpot Java, and the all new Epic Buffet. The Bridges Grill and Pro Shop re-opened this month after multi-million dollars renovations. The fully renovated casino operation land-based, facility has 17,000 square feet of function space and nine private meeting rooms.
