Historic Photography Exhibit Coming to Gambler's Book Shop14 November 1998Gambler's Book Shop, in continuing 35 years as a vital part of the Las Vegas community, is establishing a permanent photographic exhibit honoring the special people whose contributions made the city world famous. The exhibit will debut December 9 at 3 p.m. Recognizing that it's easy to be dazzled solely by the city's fascinating architecture, the Shop is hoping to emphasize that it's the people who have journeyed to Vegas to earn their fortunes, entertain and become a part of a special city who give the city life and a purpose. Poker champions, blackjack gurus, sportsbook directors, junket directors, thoroughbred racing authors, big shots, casino founders and all the city's movers and shakers are represented in the new exhibit. The photographic "Hall of Fame" was created to honor these people who have breathed continuous new life into the city and contributed to its uniqueness. Many of the photo's were taken by Audio Vegas' Larry Grossman, who's been documenting the scene for himself as well as numerous publications over the years. The Gambler's Book Shop is located at 630 South 11th Street (one block west of Maryland Parkway, just off Charleston Blvd.) in Las Vegas. For details on the exhibit, call general manager Peter Ruchman at 702-382-7555 (Monday-Saturday). You can also learn more about the Gambler's Book Shop at http://www.gamblersbook.com. |
