Hippodrome Casino London to sponsor two poker pros28 January 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- The U.K.'s biggest and busiest casino has announced that it is to sponsor two poker players under the banner of Team PokerStars Live at The Hippodrome Casino London. Freshly-patched players Chris Gordon and Kelly Saxby will represent and promote the casino by playing in the Hippodrome's extensive series of tournaments as well as external tours such as the UKIPT and GUKPT. This is a Hippodrome-led initiate, with the backing of PokerStars. "Never before has an individual casino been represented by sponsored poker players," said Hippodrome Casino Head of Poker Kerryjane Craigie. "Chris and Kelly are the kind of players that we appeal to here at the Hippodrome. Anyone can come and play here; these guys did and now they are playing regularly and successfully." Gordon has multiple GUKPT and UKIPT cashes to his name, as well as a WSOP Main Event cash and a WPT National win in 2015. Saxby came to prominence after winning the Women's Event at EPT 10 in London, and also boasts a number of WSOP, WPT and GUKPT cashes. The UKIPT Series begins at The Hippodrome on Jan. 29 and will be the pair's first outing as part of Team PokerStars Live at The Hippodrome.
