High Court Won't Hear Thunder Valley Case

WASHINGTON -- As reported by the Sacramento Bee: ``The U.S. Supreme Court has refused without comment to consider a Placer County citizens group's challenge of Thunder Valley Casino.

``Citizens for Safer Communities had sought the court's review after decisions by a federal appeals court and a district judge to dismiss the lawsuit.

``…The cities of Roseville and Rocklin had been a part of the lawsuit to close the casino, alleging the federal government failed to consider a casino's impact on surrounding communities when it granted reservation status to the site. But the cities dropped out of the lawsuit late last year. The citizens group continued the action…"
