Hellmuth to host charity event in honor of fallen officers17 November 2008MIAMI, Florida -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- UltimateBet today announced the sponsorship of a charity Texas Hold'em tournament to benefit the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers, an organization dedicated to providing financial support to the families of local, state/provincial, and federal law enforcement officials in the US and Canada who were lost in the line of duty. Hold'em for Heroes is a two-day charity event set to get underway on November 21st at Fort McDowell Casino in Arizona. UltimateBet pro and 11-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is slated to host the event in support of The TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers. In addition to donating a variety of sought-after poker prizes for the final table players, the online poker site is also sending a few of their top local players to the play in the event for free. UltimateBet has a strong history of supporting charitable organizations. In August, the poker room sponsored the first annual Celebrity Casino Night in support of Eva's Heroes, an organization founded by Eva Longoria dedicated to enriching the lives of those with developmental challenges. UltimateBet is also a longtime supporter of Ante Up For Africa, an organization created to raise public awareness and funds for Sudan-related charities. In July, UltimateBet introduced a variety of innovative ways for players to make a contribution to the cause using their UltimatePoints and this past October, the online poker site hosted a charity poker tournament at the 2008 Aruba Poker Classic, their signature land-based poker event.
