Havasu Landing Resort and Casino closes down again

10 July 2020

The Havasu Landing Resort & Casino has made the difficult decision of temporarily closing its doors to the public again. Below is the announcement posted on the California property's website.

"The Chemehuevi Indian Tribe through its enterprises, the Havasu Landing Casino, Hotel and Resort, has sought to ensure the public health and welfare by vigilantly following the CDC Guidelines in regards to the Coronavirus Pandemic. We totally closed for months to “super clean” our facilities, train our team members and re-arrange our facilities to comply with ‘social distancing’ guidelines.

We were so happy to once again open our doors to you, our friends, and enjoy your company. During this time we remained vigilant in our efforts to protect our team members and you and I want to thank you all for your co-operation.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, COVID-19 has reached the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation. We are called upon again to make that decision to err on the side of the health and safety of our communities. In this case, it has also affected two departments that are mandatory to the operation of any casino. Without these two departments we cannot legally open and operate a gaming facility.

I am announcing the immediate re-closure of the Havasu Landing Casino for at least the next 14 days. We again will super clean our facilities during this time to guarantee a safe and enjoyable environment when we re-re-open."
