Harrah's VP Highlights Expansion

30 June 2005

KANSAS CITY -- As reported by the Sun-News of the Northland: "Harrah's North Kansas City Casino & Hotel opened in September 1994 as a $168 million complex offering two casinos, slot machines, gaming tables, 200-room hotel and five restaurants.

"Eleven years later, casino shareholders added another $130 million investment to the casino, Vice President Tom Cook said to the participants of the Information Exchange, sponsored by the Clay County Economic Development Council.

"Features in the expansion are opening, Cook said.

"The Corner Grill, which replaces the former deli, is open. Starbuck's Coffee opened June 27.

"The casino floor has also changed to offer better flow and comfort including several plasma televisions.

"…The hotel tower, which opens in early August, has 11 floors and an additional 192 rooms, including 50 suites.

"…Moby's Seafood Restaurant should open in early October. Cook said the restaurant will have mid-priced seafood.

"…Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill opens late October. The door will be a garage-style entrance. Cook said the bar and grill will seat about 345.

"… 'By the end of October, we will be pretty much completed with our expansion,' he said. 'We then will turn our attention to marketing a new Harrah's. I am confident shareholders, employees and customers will enjoy the improvements.'…"
