Harrah's riverboat move to hotel approved

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Harrah's 18 year-old riverboat casino will close and be relocated to a hotel, according to a report in the Des Moines Register.

The riverboat casino is cost prohibitive to maintain, the report said.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission has approved the move to a land-based dockside hotel that will cost $8 million, the Des Moines Register reported.
