Harrah's Philadelphia welcomes WSOP Circuit

11 April 2014

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Harrah's Philadelphia announced today that the World Series of Poker Circuit tournament series will take place from Wednesday April 16 through Monday, April 28. Held in the World Series of Poker room at Harrah’s Philadelphia, the 2014 tournament is set to be the casino’s most thrilling tournament they have hosted to date.

Satellite participants at Harrah’s Philadelphia can enter to win a seat into the Las Vegas Satellite, where numerous players are then sent to compete in the WSOP main event. The Satellite tournament will allow players access to enter the WSOP with a more accessible buy in than the traditional $10,000 entrance fee to the main tournament.

“In 2013 Harrah’s Philadelphia paid over $1 million in WSOP ring event prize money, this year we are going even bigger with thirteen-days of poker tournaments and by giving one winner a chance to compete for a guaranteed $10 million in the WSOP Main Event held in Las Vegas,” said Ron Baumann, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Philadelphia. “With our outstanding prize pool and winner take all format, we believe Harrah’s Philadelphia and the WSOP have created a truly valuable event for all guests.”

The thirteen-day event will feature more than 35 poker tournaments across a wide range of buy-ins, formats and variants. On Easter Sunday, Harrah’s Philadelphia players can also compete in multiple satellites events to win a seat into a larger tournament. The main event is running in two heats on April 25 & 26 at 11AM with a $1,675 total buy-in. The 12 ring events include a turbo NLH, Pot Limit Omaha, a H.O.S.E. event, 6 Max, as well as other NLH Hold’em events.
