Harrah's Philadelphia partners with Art on Avenue of the States3 December 2013CHESTER, Penn. -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Harrah's Philadelphia, in conjunction with its dedication to the surrounding Chester Community, has partnered with the nearby Art on Avenue of the States to host a 2nd exciting art gallery featuring local artists. Making its return on December 13, guests and visitors to Harrah’s Philadelphia will be greeted by a rotating exhibition of artists whose work is bold, colorful, and thematically in tune with entertainment and gaming. “Last year’s exhibit showcased the work of some truly gifted, established artists, as well as some burgeoning talent all from the Chester and Delaware County communities,” said Ron Baumann, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Harrah’s Philadelphia. “Their ambitious works of art transformed our lobby into something special, something that our guests and customers wanted more of, so with that we are honored to once again host the Art on Avenue of the States gallery and highlight some visually stunning pieces.” The Harrah’s Philadelphia lobby will feature 17 pieces by 11 local artists. Additional to the work featured in the lobby, Art on Avenue of the States will host special nights where interested parties can actually meet the artist and hear in their own words about the pieces particular origin. All works are for sale and vary in price, starting at $500. The mission of Art on Avenue of the States is to bring the community together in a welcoming atmosphere to experience the visual and performing arts. The gallery, located in Chester, PA, is run by artists for artists. The focus of the gallery is to create a space for local, regional and guest artists to exhibit and sell their works. The gallery is educational and will serve as an entertainment venue for the community to engage in the diverse media of the art world, as well as to participate in the gallery's many workshops and performances. “Our partnership with Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino has been an exciting venture for our gallery and all the participating artists,” said Linda Braceland, President of Art on Avenue of the States. “People who come to the Harrah’s Philadelphia casino would not usually find our gallery in downtown Chester, or have the opportunity to see work by our artists, who are all from the region. Our ‘Meet The Artist’ nights give the artists an opportunity to talk about their work to a wide range of people. We view this as a very positive experience and look forward to a long term relationship with Harrah’s Philadelphia.” |
