Harrah's now owns Thistledown Racetrack26 May 2010OHIO -- Not only are Harrah's Entertainment the new owners of Thistledown race track, but they acquired it at a much reduced price of $43 million, according to the Cleveland Leader. Harrah's originally had an option to buy it for $89.5 million, but the recent decision not to allow slot machines at Ohio race tracks impacted on that price, The Cleveland Leader said. Harrah's, who own several other race tracks, made the purchase at auction in New York yesterday, The Cleveland Leader said.
