Harrah's New Orleans Casino to require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test

13 August 2021

On Thursday, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced that effective Monday, 16 August proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test will be required to participate in activities with a higher risk of COVID transmission, including casinos, racetracks and video poker establishments as well as all restaurants, gyms, concerts, and the Caesars Superdome.

As a result, Harrah's New Orleans Casino will become the first casino resort in the U.S. to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to be allowed to enter. The casino posted the following message on its website's home page:

In conjunction with guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the city officials relating to the mitigation of the spread of COVID-19 and the Delta variant, we will require that everyone regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in public indoor settings.
