Harrah's Names New VP

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Cheryl Teamer has joined Harrah's Operating Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., as Regional Vice President of Government Relations, effective immediately.

Teamer will lead Harrah's government relations efforts in Louisiana and Mississippi, and will also focus on working with federal officials and national organizations. She succeeds Fred Keeton, who has been named Harrah's vice president of external affairs. "We're privileged to have a professional of Cheryl's caliber join our company," said Jan Jones, Harrah's senior vice president of communications and government relations.

"Her experience and knowledge of local, state and federal politics is unparalleled, and will greatly assist our company in building relationships with elected officials in Louisiana and Mississippi."

Teamer was previously a member of the governmental affairs group at Adams & Reese LLP. Previously she served as Executive Assistant for Intergovernmental Relations to former New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial, serving as the mayor's official liaison to local, state and federal agencies. She also served as Attorney to the Louisiana House of Representatives, Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs; and adjunct professor of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at the University of New Orleans.
