Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol’s Council Oak Steaks & Seafood wins award22 July 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, the classic-American steakhouse located inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2025 Restaurant Awards. “A wine list is a restaurant’s identity in print, and this year’s Wine Spectator Restaurant Award winners reflect both deep knowledge and a passion for discovery,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher of Wine Spectator. “I proudly present the 3,811 restaurants worldwide that earned a Restaurant Award this year — we raise a glass to all our winners.” Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards represent the world’s only program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service. Council Oak received the Award of Excellence, which recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. The restaurant opened in November 2024 inside the popular entertainment venue in Bristol, Virginia. “Receiving this award from Wine Spectator means we've achieved excellence with our wine program — and in our very first year of operation,” said Dominic Willis, General Manager of Council Oak. “These highly regarded awards are bestowed on restaurants that demonstrate a strong commitment to wine, and reflect the depth, quality and presentation of their wine lists.
