Hard Rock Biloxi Hires Execs

BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi, preparing for its summer 2005 opening, has hired its first group of executives and opened an office on Lameuse Street.

"Joe Billhimer, the Hard Rock's president and chief operating officer, has selected veterans of the Coast casino industry: Greg Bosarge as chief financial officer, Karl Bulot as project manager, Bob Callaway as general counsel and John Murphy as vice president of information systems.

"…Along with providing games that local gamblers want to play, the Hard Rock will have the latest slot machine technology when it opens in July or August 2005. All of the casino's 1,500 slots will be coinless, paying out receipts instead of change, and there will be kiosks scattered around the floor where gamblers can redeem the points they earn betting for coupons good for free meals or hotel rooms.

"…The casino plans to sign deals with well-known restaurant brands in the next month or two.

"..From his office in the Medical Plaza Building on Lameuse Street, Billhimer can keep a close eye on how construction is progressing on the $235 million Hard Rock casino. Since construction started in January, only two days have been lost to rain.

"…Although the Hard Rock has received thousands of resumes, Bosarge said it will be at least 10 months before the casino does any large-scale hiring of dealers, bartenders, housekeepers and valets…"
