Guam Judge Rejects Casino Election Request3 May 2006GUAM – As reported by the Pacific Daily News: "Opponents of legalized casino gambling on Guam scored a victory in the Superior Court of Guam yesterday when Judge Michael Bordallo rejected a request to hold a new election for the casino issue. "Casino supporter Lourdes Aguon-Schulte sued the governor and the Guam Election Commission in October 2004, claiming the election process that year was flawed because voters allegedly did not receive information about the casino initiative, as required by law. "…Bordallo yesterday decided that the only people who can sue for a new election are those who believe they were harmed because they did not receive information about the casino initiative -- not Aguon-Schulte. |
