Guam Greyhound taking a second gamble6 December 2006GUAM -- As reported by Kuam: "The Guam Greyhound Race Park is making a second go-around to legalize slot machines at their facility. But like their efforts during the last election, they know it's going to be an uphill battle with opponents of gambling committed to keeping slot machines out of the island. "If the company gets its way, residents could vote on the Better Jobs for Guam Act during the next general election. "The initiative seeks to legalize slot machines at the Tamuning Para-Mutual facility and pledges to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to the island each year, through taxes and charitable contributions to healthcare and education..." |
