GTECH, Kentucky Lottery signs deal

10 October 2006

WEST GREENWICH, Rhode Island -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- GTECH Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.p.A., announced that it has signed a three-year contract extension with the Kentucky Lottery Corporation to continue providing online lottery products and services through June 30, 2011. GTECH expects to receive approximately $15 million in revenue over the three-year contract extension.

"This extension is evidence of the Kentucky Lottery's continued confidence in GTECH's ability to provide comprehensive products and services," said W. Bruce Turner, GTECH President & CEO and Lottomatica S.p.A. CEO. "Working together, we will continue to assist the Lottery in their ongoing efforts to maximize sales and generate revenue to support college scholarship and grant programs in Kentucky."

Under the terms of the extension agreement, GTECH will continue to provide ongoing services including central system and terminal maintenance; retailer training; marketing support; hotline management; and field services.

The Kentucky Lottery Corporation has been a valued GTECH customer since 1989 when the Lottery began sales. Proceeds from the Lottery benefit the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) Program, the College Access Program, and the Kentucky Tuition Grants Program. Kentucky Lottery proceeds have provided more than 708,000 of these grants and scholarships worth $817 million since 1999.
