GSA Welcomes Four More Members

13 May 2004

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- As part of its recent Annual Meeting, the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) Board of Directors welcomed four new members, and re-affirmed its confidence in the leadership of Gregg Solomon, Mandalay Bay Resort Group, as Chairman of the Board. Solomon has held the position of Chairman of the Board for nearly three years.

Newly elected BOD members include; Frank Ciuffetelli, Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., Fred Lychock of R. Franco USA, and Jon Berkley of Transact Technologies. Tom Nugent, JCM American Corporation has been re-elected, and will continue as Treasurer. In addition to our new BOD members, Lyle Bell of the Seminole Tribe of Florida will fill a newly created role of Tribal Gaming Representative on the Board's Executive Committee.

Continuing board members include; Mark Lipparelli, Vice Chairman, Bally Gaming, Inc.; John Boushy, of Harrah's Entertainment, who will continue in his role as Secretary for GSA; Kent Young, Aristocrat Technologies, Inc.; Joe Bailo, Atronic Americas; Val Levitan, CashCode Co., Inc.; Steve Sutherland, Konami Gaming, Inc.; Rob Siemasko, WMS Gaming.

GSA President Peter DeRaedt said, "GSA is pleased that Jon, Fred and Frank have joined our Board of Directors. GSA continues to grow around the world, both with manufacturers and operators joining, and these men will provide vital leadership. GSA is grateful for the support from Lyle Bell, having agreed to accept the new position of Tribal Gaming Representative, because the standards GSA is working on will have a tremendous positive impact on Tribal gaming. Of course, it is the steady leadership of Gregg Solomon as Chairman that has guided GSA to the strong position it holds today, and we are delighted that he will continue in this role."

GSA's Annual Meeting, which was hosted by Harrah's Entertainment and took place April 29 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, highlighted recent accomplishments, and officially launched GSA's "Year of Delivery," a year that began with the release of the highly anticipated SAS(TM) 6.01 Tool Kit and will continue with the expected release of groundbreaking standards such as Best of Breed (BOB) and System-to-System (S2S).
