GSA honoured by magazine

22 January 2007

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Gaming Standards Association swept through the recent Global Gaming Expo, garnering top honors as the year's "Best Productivity Enhancement Technology." Now at the International Casino Exhibition (ICE), the landmark standard has earned another prestigious recognition. It has been voted as one of International Gaming & Wagering Business magazine's "Top Three International Gaming Products" for 2006.

IGWB's Top Three were the pinnacle of larger Top 20 list selected by a panel of independent judges on what the magazine calls the basis of "innovation, efficiency, ease of use, end-user value, adaptation/integration, long-term value and revenue potential."

GSA Chairman Lyle Bell said, "The international members of our G2S committee have yet another reason to be very proud of their work on this protocol. G2S will have a global impact, and it is very fitting that the protocol be honored by IGWB. We are very honored with this recognition."

G2S is a standardized communication protocol enabling secure communications between gaming devices and systems. G2S integrates GSA's BOB and IGT's SuperSAS(TM) protocols. The new protocol features important elements that existed neither in BOB nor in SuperSAS. G2S is the result of years of collaborative work between worldwide gaming manufacturers, suppliers and operators.

G2S will allow the industry to migrate to downloadable games and other new technology, such as client/server games, while still maintaining the games of today, well into the future.
