GSA Holds 2004 Meeting

19 April 2004

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Gaming Standards Association celebrates the successes of 2003 and launches the 2004 "Year of Delivery" at its Annual Meeting on April 29. The meeting takes place Thursday, April 29, at the Rio Suites Hotel in Las Vegas and will feature keynote addresses to provide the industry with an independent perspective on the value of standards. The meeting is open to GSA members and non-members, and media are encouraged to attend.

Keynote speakers are Marc Falcone and Vincentas Vobolevicius. Falcone, Managing Director for Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., will speak on the topic, "A Wall Street Perspective on Standards." Vobolevicius is a Ph.D. candidate in International Political Economy and a Research Associate at A&G Capital in New York. His topic is "Standardization and the Bottom Line: A Financial Outlook for an Industry-wide Protocol."

GSA Board Chairman Gregg Solomon of Mandalay Resort Group said, "We are thrilled that Marc Falcone and Vincentas Vobolevicius have accepted our invitation to address the Annual meeting. These men are respected leaders in their fields and will provide an independent voice on the importance of standards. GSA's ongoing commitment to standards is well known in the gaming industry. GSA has requested Marc and Vincentas to provide an independent perspective that will shed light on the importance of standards and how standards have been crucial elements in other industries."

GSA President Peter DeRaedt said, "2003 was an exciting and productive year for GSA. 2004 will be the year that we deliver on our promises. Highlights of the Annual meeting will include an update on the release of the Best of Breed, System-to-System and GDS Standards, the SAS(TM)6.01 Tool Kit, and our new Interoperability and Compliance Programs. Our Annual Meeting will highlight these successes and we look forward to continually moving the industry even further along the road of protocol standardization."
