GSA Creates New Membership

LAS VEGAS – (Press Release) -- The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) proudly announces the creation of a new class of membership, which will allow companies to demonstrate their support for GSA and industry standards, without being restricted by GSA's patent policy.

"The Board of Directors' overall intent is for the gaming industry to benefit from the widespread adoption of GSA standards. In order to accomplish this, the Board has established a new 'Supporting' membership category. The main benefit is that Manufacturers and Operators can become a member of GSA and show their support of GSA's work to bring protocol standards to the gaming industry without being bound to the intellectual property disclosure policies of the association," GSA Board Chairman Gregg Solomon of Mandalay Resort Group said.

"This is a key moment in the gaming industry," said Peter DeRaedt, GSA President. "With the unwavering support of its membership, GSA has spent six years working on standards that will be critical to the future success and development of the industry. Our new standards will open up tremendous opportunities and pave the way for unlimited creativity and industry expansion. Our members will get a free license to practice our standards. GSA will be releasing these to our members this year making membership in GSA more vital than ever!"

Platinum, Gold and Silver level memberships are available within the new "Supporting membership" category. Being granted a free license for a specific GSA standard depends upon the supporting membership class. The supporting member will only be granted access to the released GSA standards and not be able to participate in committee meetings, nor board meetings. GSA's traditional membership levels of Platinum, Gold and Silver remain available. These memberships have the benefit of lower annual dues, in addition to the opportunity to have direct influence on GSA's continuing mission to facilitate the identification, definition, development, promotion, and implementation of open standards. All levels of membership require compliance with GSA's bylaws. GSA's membership continues to grow, and is currently at 63 members, representing all aspects of the industry from around the globe.
