Greg Schachtel joins Rampart Casino as VIP Casino Host

11 December 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Rampart Casino Resort at Summerlin doubles down on a new VIP Casino Host by welcoming Greg Schachtel to the team. Schachtel brings a wide variety of experience to his role, most importantly in the Summerlin area and with local residents.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Greg as part of our casino team,” said Rampart Casino General Manager Michael Gaughan “His experience in the industry, and specifically with locals, is a great fit for us to continue bringing memorable moments to our guests as we move into our 20th year as Summerlin’s first casino.”

Born in Illinois but raised in California, Greg Schachtel had a yearning for sports and competition since he was young. After graduating high school, Schachtel knew he wanted to make his passion for gaming, competition and sports a fulltime career, so he packed up and moved to Las Vegas. A chance meeting with Charlie Meyerson, the “super host” of a Strip property, helped Schachtel confirm that he belonged in the gaming world where he has been now for more than 25 years.

Beginning in 1992, Schachtel started his casino life working on the Strip as a Casino Cashier. Through the years he moved throughout the city’s finest hotels on and off Strip where he held positions from Cage Cashier and Slot Host to Slot Club Attendant and Dual Rate Supervisor. These positions shaped Schachtel’s career, giving him great insight to every area of gaming behind-the-scenes, as well as face-to-face time with customers. His hard work and dedication shined through as he received the Gold Achievement-Customer Service of Excellence from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce from 2015 – 2017.

Schachtel brings his positive attitude and perseverance to every aspect of his life, which makes his daily interaction with customers soar above and beyond. When he isn’t on the casino floor, he’s busy playing in poker tournaments both online and in the casinos. The host with the most also likes to travel, attend concerts, and cheer for his favorite team at sporting events, especially the Vegas Golden Knights.
