Greece: Casino revenue falls2 January 2012GREECE -- Revenue declined again for Greece's nine casinos in 2011, Ekathimerini reported. Revenue fell 18.5 percent in 2011 when compared with the same period in 2010, the report said. Factors cited for the decline include the financial crisis reducing Greek disposable income, and the upsurge in illegal gambling, Ekathimerini said. Casino revenue decline will impact state revenue, something that Greece can ill afford during the current period of austerity. |
