Granny Attacked in Casino Bag-Snatching

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australia Courier-Mail: "Police are sifting through security tapes for clues to a vicious weekend bag-snatching in which a grandmother, 79, was kicked, punched and had her head slammed into a car at the Gold Coast's Jupiters Casino.

"The attack, which left the woman in hospital with cuts and bruises, has sickened and angered police.

"It was one of two weekend bag-snatchings involving elderly women on the Gold Coast.

"…The woman had been gambling at the casino and was returning alone to her car about 4.30pm on Saturday, when she was attacked.

"Despite being kicked and punched to the ground, she refused to release her bag.

"…The woman did not see her attacker and police are sifting through casino security tapes in the hope of finding a clue. She was yesterday recovering in hospital but was too afraid and upset to speak to the media, a hospital spokeswoman said…"
