Gorbachev's New Opinion of Vegas

25 March 2004

LAS VEGAS – As reported by the KVBC News 3: "…Former soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev spoke last night at the Thomas & Mack Center. He's still a big believer in world peace. Gorbachev says the U.S. made a mistake going to war in Iraq. But he also wants to promote tourism in Russia. And he says he likes Las Vegas, something that wasn't true before.

"…Mikhail Gorbachev, who led the Soviet Union from 1985 until it dissolved in 1991 says he no longer has a low regard for Las Vegas.

"'I have spent two very good days here in this city. I have changed my opinion about your state and your city.'

"…'Of all the places I have been, no place has more cultural and certainly scenic areas of importance than exists on this highway.'…"
