Googoosh returning to The Cosmopolitan23 August 2022(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas continues to bring world-class international talent to The Chelsea stage with Iranian superstar Googoosh. Her return to The Chelsea stage on Sunday, 25 December marks exactly one year since her massively successful performance in the venue. With a distinguished career spanning over five decades, Googoosh is the most successful Iranian artist of all time. Her 1966 release “Gheseye Vafa” quickly catapulted her into the limelight, making her a household name and ultimately leading her to collaborations and performances with world-renowned artists including Ray Charles, Tina Turner and Charles Aznavour. In 2000, following a 21-year performance ban by the conservative government of Iran stemming from the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Googoosh embarked on a world tour, selling out concerts worldwide in prestigious venues including the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York and Wembley Arena in London. Googoosh’s long career is not only a testament to her quality as an artist, but as a tribute to generations of Iranians who have continued to show love and loyalty despite over two decades of silence.
