Gomes+Cordish Gaming formed27 November 2007BALTIMORE, Maryland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Dennis Gomes, one of the gaming industry's most prominent executives and The Cordish Company, one of the largest and most respected developers in the country, announced today the formation of a new gaming management company, Gomes+Cordish Gaming Management, LLC. Gomes+Cordish Gaming Management, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company, will operate gaming projects worldwide. The company's President & CEO, Dennis Gomes, will combine his extensive casino related experience and successful track record in the casino industry with the unparalleled experience of the award winning developer, The Cordish Company. "We are thrilled to partner with Dennis Gomes," said David Cordish, Chairman of the Cordish Company. "Dennis has an impeccable track record in maximizing operating profits at many of the nation's top casino operations and is a pioneer in gaming enforcement and regulatory matters." Gomes, a gaming industry leader for over 35 years, has successfully managed casino, hotel and entertainment properties in major gaming markets Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Mr. Gomes served as President of Steve Wynn's Golden Nugget, the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, and most recently he spearheaded the transformation of Aztar Corporation's two Tropicana properties in Las Vegas, Nevada and Atlantic City, New Jersey. He led the development of the Tropicana's paradigm changing retail, dining and entertainment project, the Quarter. Under his leadership Aztar stock increased in value from $5 to $50 per share and operating profits by over 80%. Previously, Mr. Gomes held major law enforcement and regulatory positions with the Nevada Gaming Control Board and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The Cordish Company recently announced a partnership which will develop a casino entertainment complex at the Indiana Downs racetrack, approximately 15 miles from downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. This first class casino project will feature state-of-the-art gaming, fine and casual restaurants, live entertainment and convention space. The project will be managed by the Gomes+Cordish partnership.
