Golf: European Tour bans gambling16 March 2011Following betting scandals in other sports like cricket and snooker, the European Tour has moved affirmatively to ensure it does not happen in golf, according to NBC Sports. The European Tour have outlined a policy that forbids players and caddies from "can either directly or indirectly bet or be involved in a bet in a competition they are playing or have any influence", NBC news quoted the Associated Press as reporting. Players and caddies are also forbidden from sharing any "inside information", NBC Sports explained.
