Gold Coast Hotel and Casino opens steakhouse

28 September 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Cornerstone, a classic American steakhouse, is now open at Gold Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

"From our succulent steaks to our carefully curated liquor library, Cornerstone is a distinctive new destination for a distinguished dining experience," said Mark LaVoie, Vice President of Food and Beverage for Boyd Gaming. "Cornerstone is inspired by what is well-loved about classic American steakhouses: savory food, an expansive selection of drinks, and a comfortable place to enjoy a meal and great company."

Cornerstone's distinctive, comfortable space gives guests a preview of the classic experience they'll enjoy: sporting a timeless black-and-white, tuxedo-inspired décor, bold splashes of cerulean blue accent the room for an unexpected modern twist. The white-washed brick walls are adorned with mercury glass sconces and chalkboard murals that lend a personal touch to the design, while the blue-silk-shaded chandelier draws all eyes to the center of the distinctive dining room. A curated collection of vintage photographs and colorful accessories are playfully interspersed with modern artworks in Cornerstone's signature blue. The bar is populated by an eclectic mix of stylish seating options, a comfortable environment in which to study Cornerstone's signature "liquor library."

Featuring more than 60 types of whiskey from around the world, Cornerstone's liquor library is an extensive collection of spirited experiences. Enjoy scotch, bourbon, rye or small-batch whiskey on its own, or as part of a Prohibition-inspired crafted cocktail, like the Old Fashioned, made with Old Forester Bourbon, barrel-aged for 40 days in-house. A varied selection of whiskey flights are also available, from just $17 and ranging from Kentucky to rye to a "Kamikaze flight" of Japanese whiskeys. The menu also serves the Crown Royal Cornerstone Blend, the first limited release from Crown Royal's Noble Collection. The blend features notes of sweet caramel, rich toasted grains and offers an aroma of ripe fallen apples. For those looking for a different genre of beverage, enjoy the unique Hollywood and Vine, Cornerstone's take on the Moscow Mule, featuring Stoli Vodka, Dow's Ruby Port, fresh lemon and berries and Barritt's Ginger Beer.

Traditional steakhouse offerings fill Cornerstone's robust menu. With eight different beef selections, nine different toppings and 12 different sides to share, the main event at Cornerstone is entirely what the customer makes it. The USDA-certified 1855 choice Angus beef cuts include Cornerstone's signature prime rib crown steak, a generously marbled, richly flavored experience. The generously sized side dishes include steakhouse favorites, from sautéed mushrooms to crisp bacon green beans to lobster mac and cheese, and even three different types of French fries.

Cornerstone puts the finishing touch on the meal with an indulgent selection of desserts, including the Limoncello cake – a light, fluffy lemon cake layered with mascarpone pastry cream and infused with Limoncello Liqueur, served up with a shot of the namesake spirit.

Cornerstone follows the recent debuts of other dining concepts at Boyd Gaming properties throughout the Las Vegas Valley, including The Angry Butcher Steakhouse at Sam's Town; Alder & Birch Cocktails and Dining and Ondori Asian Kitchen at The Orleans; The Filament bar at Fremont Hotel and Casino; and Brigg's Oyster Co. at Suncoast Hotel and Casino.
