Global Draw awarded Coral contract11 October 2006NEW YORK, Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Scientific Games (Nasdaq: SGMS) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary The Global Draw Ltd was awarded a four year contract to become the exclusive supplier of gaming machines to Coral betting shops in the United Kingdom. The contract begins October 1st of 2006, and lasts for four years. Coral operates over 1,450 betting shops and has an installed base of over 5,100 fixed odds betting terminals (FOBTs) already supplied by Global Draw (out of a total of approximately 9,000 terminals operated by Global Draw in the UK). The contract prepares Coral and the Global Draw for the changes in UK gaming laws in September 2007 that allows betting shops to have up to a total of four of either FOBTs or a new category of machine (so called "Jackpot Machines") which allow for a lower stakes rapid play games with a pounds sterling 500 jackpot. The FOBT product is currently dominated by numbers betting products including Roulette and the Jackpot product is expected to be dominated by video reel based games. Prior to September 2007, Global Draw will replace all its existing FOBTs and other gaming machines in the Coral Estate with the global Draw's new Nevada(TM) dual screen terminals which can be configured to operate either as FOBTs or Jackpot machines. Global Draw has also made a significant commitment to providing additional content for the Jackpot machines from its own in-house game development groups and with leading third party games designers. The contract also allows Coral to extend Global Draw's "Coral Plus" product to the whole of the Coral Estate on completion of the current trial. The Coral Plus product allows customers to place automated over the counter bets on events such as virtual racing and other numbers events produced by Global Draw displayed on dedicated TV monitors in the betting shops. "We are absolutely delighted with this new contract from Coral. Global Draw has worked closely with them for a number of years, and have enjoyed consistent growth in sales and profits. We look forward to growing with them in the coming years," said Lorne Weil, Chairman and CEO of Scientific Games. Neil Goulden, Chief Executive Officer of Gala Coral said, "We are delighted to have signed another 4 year contract with Global Draw. They continue to provide market leading technology and content which enables Coral Racing to achieve sector best performance from our machine estate. We welcome their recent tie up with Scientific Games which will help to ensure that Coral Racing retains it's market leading position in terms of machine technology and performance." "The Global Draw has done an excellent job in supplying fixed odds betting terminals ever since they were introduced by Global Draw onto the UK market. Coral is very excited about the new terminals, content and the flexibility the dual purpose configuration gives us to take advantage of the upcoming change in UK legislation," said Phil Horne Director of Gaming Coral. "Coral is our largest and most valued customer. We believe that the dual purpose, dual screen terminal will set the standard for gaming machines in the betting shop environment ready for the change in legislation in 2007 and look forward to also offering this to other bookmakers in the UK.
